Checkup

SMS Messaging Terms

Last updated and effective: August 31, 2026

Checkup ("Checkup", "we"), made by Redbud Software LLC, is a mobile app that reminds people to book recurring appointments for their household — medical and dental visits, pet care, home upkeep, and vehicle maintenance. Users who opt in inside the app can receive some of those reminders as SMS text messages. This page describes that messaging program.

What messages you'll receive

If you opt in, Checkup may send you:

Typical messages look like this:

Reminder Checkup: A good time to book Rex's vet wellness exam — it's due in 3 weeks. Open the app to snooze or mark it booked. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply.
Booking update Checkup: Booked! Rex's wellness exam at Fairmount Animal Hospital — Thu Sep 17, 2:30 PM. Details and a calendar invite are in the app. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Checkup never sends marketing or promotional texts, and messages are only about the reminders you yourself set up in the app.

How you opt in

Text messaging is off by default and is not required to use Checkup. You opt in inside the app — Settings → Notifications → Text reminders — by entering your mobile number, agreeing to the consent language shown there, and confirming the number with a one-time verification code, so messages can never be turned on for a number you don't control. The opt-in screen looks like this:

The toggle is shown in its default off state — you must actively turn it on and verify your number to receive texts. Consent to SMS is a separate, optional control and is never bundled with any other agreement.

Phone numbers are never enrolled by anyone other than you, and consent is never purchased, rented, sold, or shared.

Message frequency

Frequency varies with how many reminders you track and how you've paced them. For a typical household it's a few messages per month; reminders for the same item repeat no more than about monthly by default, and you control each one's pace in the app.

Cost

Checkup doesn't charge for these messages, but message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.

How to opt out

Stop at any time by replying STOP (or STOPALL, OPTOUT, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, or REVOKE) to any message. You'll get one confirmation that you're unsubscribed, and no further texts will be sent. You can also turn off text reminders in the app's notification settings. To resubscribe, reply START or turn the toggle back on in the app.
