Checkup

Terms of Service

Last updated and effective: August 31, 2026

The short version

These terms are an agreement between you and Redbud Software LLC, the maker of Checkup ("Checkup", "we", "us") covering the Checkup mobile apps and trycheckup.app (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What the Service is — and what it isn't

Checkup helps you remember to book recurring appointments and upkeep for your household. Its schedules are general defaults, drawn from common public guidance and manufacturer norms, and every one of them is adjustable.

Checkup does not provide medical, veterinary, or professional advice. Nothing in the Service is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for the judgment of your physician, dentist, veterinarian, contractor, or mechanic. If a professional tells you a different schedule is right for you, follow it (and tell Checkup, so it can remind you on that schedule instead). Never delay seeking care because a reminder hasn't fired. If you think you have an emergency, call your local emergency number.

2. Who can use Checkup

You must be at least 13 to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to use concierge booking. If you add other people to your household or CC someone on reminder emails, you're responsible for having their permission.

3. Accounts and guest mode

You can use Checkup without an account; your data is then tied to a credential on your device, and losing the device can mean losing that data — creating an account is how you make it durable. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your sign-in email secure. Keep what you enter accurate; reminders are only as good as their dates.

4. Concierge booking

Where offered, you can ask Checkup to book an appointment for you with a veterinarian, home-service provider, or auto shop. When you do:

5. Reminders and notifications

Push, email, and text notifications are each optional and controlled by you. Delivery depends on third parties (carriers, email providers, your device settings) and isn't guaranteed — another reason the Service is a convenience, not something to rely on for anything critical. Text messaging has its own SMS terms.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service. In particular, don't:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Your content

Everything you enter — members, dates, providers, notes — is yours. You give us the limited license needed to store and process it to run the Service for you, and that's the only thing we use it for.

8. Our property

The Service itself — the apps, site, design, and content we created — belongs to us and our licensors. These terms don't grant you any rights in it beyond using the Service as intended.

9. Third-party services and app stores

The Service works with third parties: sign-in via Apple, Google, or email; app distribution via the Apple App Store and Google Play, whose own terms also apply to those downloads. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no obligation to support the Service. Provider listings come from public directories and may be out of date — double-check before you drive over.

10. The Service is provided "as is"

We work hard on Checkup, but it's provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that reminders will be timely, accurate, or uninterrupted, or that default schedules fit your situation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Checkup won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for a missed or mistimed appointment, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Ending things

You can stop using Checkup and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end the Service (or your access to it) for violations of these terms or if we discontinue the product — with reasonable notice, and time to export your data, where possible. Sections that by their nature should survive (8, 10, 11, 13) survive.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If something's wrong, please email us first — most issues are fixable in one reply. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. Using the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
